WHY SEEK REGISTRATION?
Far
sighted Technologists and Technicians realizing the importance
of preparing themselves for the opportunities which lie ahead,
will recognize the desirability of having their qualifications
recognized widely. They will appreciate guidance regarding the
precise path which they should follow in order to improve their
technical knowledge.
Recognition
of the contributions of Technologists and Technicians to our
Association will provide an ample reward to compensate for the
extensive studies which are required. There is little doubt that
industry favors men and women who honestly try to improve
themselves, and reclassification to another category will draw
attention to their progress.
The
combined efforts of many, working towards a common goal under
capable leadership, will offer results which cannot be attained
by individuals alone. The growth of an organization of
professional Technologists and Technicians can effectively serve
those who are members, and the industries in which they are
employed. The support and active participation of SASTT members
can give strength to the organization.
-
Recognized
professional standing in the applied science / engineering
technology community. Formal recognition establishes the
minimum level of one's technical qualifications at the time
of registration. This provides employers - either present or
future - with a firm point of assessment of an individual's
qualifications for their own purposes.
-
Registration
provides the Technologist/Technician with a starting point
for future studies to improve his or her qualifications and
status.
-
Registration
marks the individual as qualified in a particular field of
Technology - for example, Biological Science, Building,
Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Forestry,
Geomatics, Industrial, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Mining,
and Petroleum.

provides the opportunity to support The Saskatchewan Applied
Science Technologists and Technicians - a professional
organization established for their benefit.
