HIGHLIGHTS FROM SASTT’S
PROCLAMATION CEREMONY

March 17, 1999 – Saskatchewan Science Centre

	The Hon. John Wiebe, the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, signing the Proclamation witnessed by SASTT President, John Walker, AScT (Right).
	Deputy Premier, The Hon. Dwain Lingenfelter signing the Proclamation.
	The Minister Responsible for the SASTT Act, The Hon. Doreen Hamilton signing the Proclamation.
	The Hon. Clay Serby introduced the SASTT Act in the Legislature and saw it through to Royal Assent.
	The Hon. Maynard Sonntag, former Minister Responsible for the SASTT Act.
	The efforts of Mark Koenker, MLA, to assist SASTT in achieving this milestone commenced in the mid 1980's. Thanks, Mark, for your dedication & commitment to our profession.
	Dr. Reg Bing-Wo, P.Eng., AScT reads the Proclamation while the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan affixes his signature.
	Dr. Art Knight, the President of Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science & Technology (SIAST), addresses all in attendance and brings congratulations on behalf of SIAST.
	SASTT is indeed honoured to have James Brandt, AScT, a Past President of SASTT, as our Master of Ceremonies for this momentous occasion.

To all to whom these Presents shall come, GREETING:

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS Section 51 of The Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians Act, S.S. 1997, c.S-6.01 provides as follows:

"51 This Act comes into force on proclamation."

WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to fix a day on which sections 1 to 47 of The Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians Act shall come into force.

NOW KNOW YE, that by and with the advice of our Executive Council of Our Province, We do by these Presents proclaim Tuesday, October 20, 1998, as the day on which sections 1 to 47 of The Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians Act shall come into force.

OF ALL OF WHICH PRESENTS Our Loving Subjects of Our said Province and all others whom they may concern are hereby required to take notice and govern themselves accordingly.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF we have caused the Great Seal of Our Province of Saskatchewan to be hereunto affixed.

WITNESS: Our right trusty and well beloved the Honourable John Edward Neil Wiebe, Lieutenant Governor of our Province of Saskatchewan.

AT OUR CAPITAL CITY OF REGINA, in Our said Province, this thirteenth day of October, in the year Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ninety-eight and in the forty-seventh year of Our Reign.
