OUTSTANDING TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This Award is bestowed upon registered SASTT members who have distinguished themselves in their careers and have brought recognition and credit to applied science / engineering technology. It recognizes excellence in professional life - whether technical practice or such areas as management, teaching or administration.

  • Assessment consideration includes, but is not limited to:
  • Specific work accomplishments;
  • Length of service with an employer and in the profession;
  • Multiple professions;
  • Entrepreneurial success;
  • Career advancements;
  • Public profile;
  • Published papers or articles;
  • Corporate recognition and level of responsibility;
  • Peer recognition.

 

OUTSTANDING EMPLOYER AWARD

This Award recognizes outstanding technical achievement by employers of applied science / engineering technologists and technicians in Saskatchewan. The basis for this Award may be a single, exceptional accomplishment or a long record of continuing excellence. Activities must be worthy of the designation "outstanding" in their contribution to technology in Canada, and might include:

  • Development and implementation of a new product, process or technique;
  • Design and / or construction of significant or unique structures;
  • An innovative technical solution to an environmental, community, or social problem;
  • Research leading to applications of new knowledge;
  • Exceptional encouragement of individual technical enterprise.

The Award is available to business firms, crown corporations, government agencies, individual entrepreneurs, associations, research and development agencies, and educational institutions.

 

MERIT AWARD

This Award may be granted to either members or non-members who have distinguished themselves in the service of the Association on a voluntary, salaried or elective basis.

 

APPLIED RESEARCH PROJECT AWARD

The Applied Research Project portion of a technology academic training program allows the technologist to combine the competencies obtained during the program to research a specific area of interest. As a means to recognize the outstanding achievement of a graduating student, SASTT provides an Applied Research Project Award. The work must be worthy of the designation "outstanding" and might include:

  • Development or implementation of a new product, process or technique;
  • An innovative technical solution to an environmental, social or community problem.

The Award is available to one graduating student of a Saskatchewan applied science / engineering technology program recognized by SASTT. The Award will consist of a Certificate of Achievement, a letter of congratulations from the President of SASTT, and two years free membership in SASTT.

Candidates will be nominated by program heads of applied science / engineering technology programs recognized by SASTT (maximum of one per year). Students interested in being considered for the Award should contact their program head.
